January is Mystery Month!

We're starting out a new year in the library by solving a mystery! Frosty the Snowman has been prematurely melted --and the list of suspects has grown to include legendary figures Mrs. Claus, Tooth Fairy, and Jack Frost, as well as others.

Read our Investigator's Notes here, and then stop into the library to read the Suspect's Statements. Take your guess in the poll, and then all will be revealed in February!

Investigator's Notes:
The town awoke on New Year’s Day to find one of its upstanding winter citizens, Frosty the Snowman, had been melted and/or knocked down sometime in the hours before dawn in the Town Square. Upon investigation, it was revealed that a group of Frosty’s closest friends were on the suspect list. Several of them had lit a campfire in the evening previous, and tried to lure Mr. Snowman with the promise of S’mores to sitting at said campfire with them. Also discovered the next morning was an open greenhouse door, and an icy trail. There was also an abandoned sled near the scene of the crime, initially leading investigators to suspect a hit-and-run situation.

Frosty’s friends were found in possession of several items that could have been used as melting devices. Mrs. Claus was in possession of a hair dryer and a clothes iron; Jolly the Elf had the remains of a candle; Norman Gnome was discovered with an Electric blanket, as well as being the caretaker of the Greenhouse; kept at a balmy 75 degrees to care for the plants inside.  Jack Frost and Steve the Magician admit to being the ringleaders in the crowd that tried to tempt him into attending the campfire. Finally, Tooth Fairy’s rooms were heated with a portable space heater; easily moved from room to room, and outdoors.

Happy Reading,
Samma
